Gold for"Out of Black Forest"

The jury of the design competition “Gute Gestaltung” (“Good Design”),  organised by the Deutsche Designer Club (German Designer Club), has declared the wacky Black Forest road movie “Out of Black Forest” as absolutely worth seeing and honoured the extraordinary product film with the DDC award 2017 in gold within the category “moving image”. The film “Out of Black Forest” has been put in the limelight by Jan Reiff on behalf of the Wagner System GmbH.

The DDC jury member Olaf Deneberger stated the decision of the jury as follows: “The film combines very good film craft with a funny – and also self-ironically – idea. It had to be realised with a relatively manageable budget to deal with and is a brave idea for a rather unspectacular product from a medium-sized company. The main character of the film, Woody, is a popular figure, do-gooder and brand ambassador in personal union. Natural wit, honesty and helpfulness are his outstanding features […] The film for itself is lighting up a fireworks of as content-related as manual know-how, with gags, corny jokes and masterstrokes, so that people have fun even after several viewings. Thanks to cut, sound design and main character, even dramatic intensifications of tempo are superiorly mastered. The film is excellently positioned at all levels, namely direction, camera, cast, sound, speaker, cut and FX.” Actually, there is nothing more to add to this brilliant laudation. Actually.
